Distracted

Deuteronomy 4:29

It’s not that God hides from us, making it difficult to find him. There are so many distractions in this world that blind us and draw us away from him. Hardships, love, fame, fortune, poverty, tiredness, busyness, and entertainment are just a few things that make it seem that God is not close, relevant, or even desirable. The writer assures us that when we find ourselves at the end of ourselves and despite what we have done or what has happened to us, he is still there. He is waiting for us to, like the prodigal son, turn from our godless ways and return to him. Whenever we are ready to turn our heart and soul to him, he is ready to take us back, time after time.

Have you forgotten that our God is a merciful God, ready to embrace those who have had enough of the ways of this world?
