Ephesians 4:26-27
When we see our kids doing things we know are not good for them and that will hurt them we tend to get angry if they don’t listen to our wisdom. While our intentions are good the anger, when not identified and controlled, can lead to us doing things that hurt our relationship with them. It is important to deal with the source of this and any other anger promptly because it can quickly fester into unwholesome thoughts and overtake rational thinking. As soon as our anger becomes self-justifying, self-righteous or self-satisfying we are in danger of already being on a path that is destructive to our relationships and on a road to regret. It is a bit like a car parked on a slope without the handbrake on. It is easier to stop it rolling sooner than later because once it gets going it will be impossible to prevent it and or something else from being damaged.
