Matthew 28:19
I know I get caught up in the busyness of life and tend to forget that my purpose as a follower of Jesus is to introduce him to those around me. It is not about pushing my religion, it is not about increasing numbers at church, it is not about changing a political policy, but it is about showing and sharing. We demonstrate and we direct attention to the love and forgiveness of the Father, the work of His Son and the help of His Holy Spirit. It is about leading others in the journey of discovery away from self-centeredness and towards Christ centeredness. It is about leading others away from self-dependence and towards dependence on the Father. It is about leading others away from self-reliance towards reliance on His Spirit. It is about sharing our relationship not about perpetuating and propagating our religion. It is not quick, and it is not easy, but it is what we have been called to do.
