Perspective

Perspective changes everything.  It changes the way we view life, other people and ourselves.  Three people can be in the exact same situation but each with different perspectives, with three different outlooks, attitudes and feelings.  The way we see things is generally determined by our experience in the past, our presumptions about the outcome and our perceived purpose in life.  This instruction to rejoice always was written by a guy who had practically been though hell on earth simply because he followed Jesus and desperately wanted everyone else to know Him.  Yet despite being drastically beaten, terribly abused, jailed and ridiculed many times, Paul’s perspective freed him to encourage others who found themselves in similar situations.  If our perspective is based on knowing that our lives are not our own and that God is in control of our circumstances, that He is with us always and that nothing that happens to us will separate us from Him our outlook will be significantly different.
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16‭-‬18 NIV

  1. Very encouraging to learn from the Word of God and your insight that we can be happy and at peace no matter what.
