Christians have developed a reputation of being killjoys. Over the years well meaning people have declared that Christians shouldnt’dance, go to the movies, go to parties, listen to rock and roll, watch TV or play football on Sundays. Church, a gathering of Christians, is a place that is recognised by outsiders for it’s solemn, serious and largely irrelevant, often boring and lengthy traditions. Somewhere along the line the joy associated with the freedom, forgiveness and a bright future has been lost. As followers of Jesus we have so much to be thankful for and we have someone to thank for it. Let us rediscover the joy, freshness, excitement and happiness that comes from the new life we have been given and express it on the outside.
Come, let us praise the LORD ! Let us sing for joy to God, who protects us! Let us come before him with thanksgiving and sing joyful songs of praise.
