Trapped

There are times in our life where we feel trapped.  We could feel trapped in a relationship,  trapped in debt, trapped in our job or even trapped in our habits and poor choices. There is a feeling of hopelessness, desparation and perhaps even depression that comes over us when we feel that there is no way out of the situation that we find ourselves in. It doesn’t seem to matter how much we try, how hard we work or who we turn to we just can’t get free. In most circumstances we feel surrounded and boxed in so we get consumed and overwhelmed by the problem.  All we can see is the problem. Many years ago King David of Israel found himself in some similar sticky situations and he discovered that the solution to his issues was not focusing on the problem but focusing on God. It feels awkward and opposite to what we think should be done but focusing our eyes on the One who can equip us and empower us to escape is the only way to break free for good.
My eyes are ever on the Lord , for only he will release my feet from the snare.
