The Story
Tomorrow is filled with hope and uncertainty. Tomorrow can be different or the same.
We take tomorrow for granted, we make plans for tomorrow like we have some sort of control and guarantee about what happens to our life, which can change in an instant by circumstances beyond our control. Not that we shouldn’t have plans and goals and aspirations but we also need to be ready for whatever happens. The only way we can be truly ready is to place our plans and our tomorrow in the hands of the One who holds the future.
James reiterates the wisdom of Solomon (Pr 27:1) when he writes in Chapter 4:13-16 about how we should face tomorrow – by committing it to the Lord.
Jesus tells us not to worry about tomorrow (Matt 6:34) and in doing so reminds us that in today and tomorrow we should make it our desire to seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.
So whether tomorrow goes ahead as we planned it or it doesn’t. Whether we change or stay the same, whether we live or whether we die, the only way to face it is with Jesus.
Don’t wait until tomorrow to make your life right with God, because as Yoko Ono reminds us “Tomorrow may never come”.
