Isaiah 40:29
I have heard it said that Christianity is just a crutch for those that can’t handle the pressures of life. If you have heard that or even said it yourself consider the available crutches out there being used by many these days to make people feel better about themselves and help them through life – alcohol, illicit drugs, coffee, prescribed medicines, cigarettes and pornography to name a few. I am going to presume that everyone actually needs help in life but few are actually strong enough to admit it. Most things people use as crutches have detrimental side effects, are addictive and are destructive to the body and to our relationships. Entrusting Jesus with our life frees us from our dependencies and gives us a source of strength, joy, purpose and wisdom nothing else in this world provides.
