It’s time to practise

Colossians 3:12

Since it is in our nature to be self centered, self-conscious and self-absorbed – thinking about others doesn’t always come naturally. This is why Jesus followers are told to make a conscious decision to treat others the way He treated them – with kindness, compassion, gentleness, humility and patience. This might be easier for some than others particularly when it comes to people we like. Not many though will feel like exhibiting these qualities to people who are different, difficult and unlovable. The ultimate test of our faith is whether we deliberately put into practice what we are asked to do despite how we feel. We can easily become overconfident and feel pretty good about ourselves because we know a lot about God and the Bible and the church but unless we actually care for others it all means nothing.
