Revelation 21:4
Consider the intelligence of humans. Consider the dreams and imagination we have. Consider the achievements and accomplishments throughout history. Consider the search for meaning and purpose we all have. Consider the complexity of our emotions and the desire to love and be loved. Consider our dismay and disappointment at illness, death and destruction. I find that all these things point toward humanity being made for something more than mere existence and more than simply being born, living then vanishing. The Bible promises that death is not final. In fact, death is just the beginning and yet most people don’t spend too much time thinking about being more prepared for the next life than they are for this one. For those that decide to follow Jesus there is a very bright and wonderful life after death – much better than this one.
