Who is waiting for who?

2 Peter 3:9

We have become used to getting what we want when we want it. At the same time, we know that when it comes to children there are age-appropriate toys and age-appropriate activities. Giving them small items at a young age can be a choking hazard. Asking them to carve a lamb roast when they are only two can be very dangerous to all involved. The point is that as parents we determine what is best and when for our children. We want to give them every opportunity to succeed and be safe even though they may not like it when we make them wait. At the same time, they are waiting we also wait until they are ready. God wants what is best for each of us and desires for us all to respond to his offer of rescue. While some interpret His slowness as evidence against His word, we must keep in mind that He wants to provide every opportunity for as many as possible to make that decision to love and follow Him. His seeming slowness is for your benefit. While you are waiting for Him, He is actually waiting for you.
