Psalm 139:23
I think all of us, if we stopped and thought about it, would have to admit that we get anxious about something. There is at least one thing and probably more that brings us stress, worry, concern and even fear. It could be a phobia, uncertainty or an overwhelming sense of dread which either cripples us or turns us into someone we would rather not be. Anxiety has a power over us because we feel that we have no control over the situation or the consequences. The fear of known and unknown consequences is enough to make anyone take drastic action to avoid the worst case scenario. What if we had our faith in God who is greater than anything that could come our way and who can take the worst situation and make it work out for the best? That faith in itself takes courage and commitment but the resulting peace is far better than the heavy wet blanket of anxiety.
