Awe Full

Exodus 20:20

I remember buying our first leather lounge suite some years ago. We had waited for this occasion for a long time as we saved our money for this luxury. When we finally bought it and placed it in our lounge area we treated it with the utmost care. The last thing we wanted to do was to scratch, rip or break it. So we cared for it by cleaning it, applying special treatments and ensuring that the dog stayed away from it. The more we value something the more care we take to look after it and treat it right. The way we live will reflect the value we place on God. The way we live will also reflect how we see God valuing us. If we see God as distant and not caring about us, we will live a carefree and sinful life. If we see Him as powerless or less than perfect, we will treat him with contempt. If on the other hand we see him as all powerful, all knowing, all loving and all that is pure and good we will treat him with honour, respect, obedience and awe.
