Galatians 5:24
If you live in a nice suburb, a quiet community and an area where people are generally nice you are probably living in a safe bubble. Living in these conditions we can easily be led to think that people are generally good. If we stepped outside of our bubble, we would notice that people are generally not good. When left to our own devices and without any regard for others there is not a lot of difference between us and the drug addict. There is not a lot of difference between us and the person in jail for beating their partner. There is not a lot of difference between us and the corrupt leader of a foreign nation. All it takes is to make a habit of giving into our selfish desires to lead us down that path. As followers of Jesus, we are instructed to put our natural tendencies and selfish desires down daily and pick up the pure, holy, wholesome and unnatural values of Jesus which elevate the needs of others, promote the value of each individual and display the goodness of God.
