Proverbs 15:16
The more we have the more we have to lose. The more we have the more we want. The more we have the more we have to worry about. The more we have the more complicated life gets. Even so, we spend our lives desiring more, working for more and stressing about the more we have and haven’t got. The inner pull towards more is often stronger than the values that we once believed and upheld. So much so our quest for more is often filled with suppressed regrets and guilt which leads us to ignore our conscience or at least suppress it. It is possible to live a simple, happy and content life but it does take a determined effort to escape the alluring vacuum of more and replace it with a satisfying trust in God.
