Proverbs 21:2
Each one of us is clever enough to convince ourselves that we are right or that we are doing the right thing. We may start off hesitant, but we eventually come up with enough arguments to justify our actions. This is true even if it ends up hurting someone else. Often, we don’t even realise what we are doing it because our natural tendency is to ensure we can do what we want to do. When it comes to someone else though we are quick to point out that they are wrong, even though they have convinced themselves they are right. This is what happens when we reject an objective moral code and take the law into our own hands, literally. This line of thinking leads to frustration, hurt, regret and ultimately wars.
