Psalm 5:1
We all put our lives into someone’s hands. Most of the time we decide that the best person to trust with our life is ourselves. On the odd occasion we might find ourselves in dire straits and humble ourselves enough to call for help. If we really thought about it, we would realise that we trust our lives to someone who has limited knowledge of the future, limited understanding of life and limited ability to control ourselves let alone the circumstances around us. It is like a novice arrogantly or perhaps even naively getting behind the joystick of a helicopter and being confident that they can make it up as they go. How would our life be different if we trusted our lives to the One who has unlimited foresight, unlimited wisdom and unlimited power? Perhaps we could then relax and enjoy the ride. It makes sense but still we would rather think we can do okay by making it up as we go along then wonder why life doesn’t turn out quite right.
