Approachable

Hebrews 4:16

Approaching any god with confidence was unheard of before Jesus introduced humanity to his Father. All gods were to be feared, not trusted and approached with great care so as not to upset them. Even today most religions worship a god or gods who need to be continually pleased or appeased by some sort of sacrifice and or ritual. The church has fallen back into this message numerous times in history with a strong focus on the fear of God’s wrath, anger and disdain for sin. While these characteristics might be correct, the coming of Jesus means that there is no need for fear and trembling when approaching His Father. Because of Jesus we can know and be confident that the Father will accept us, love us, hear us, deliver us and provide for us despite anything we have done or not done.
