The wrong gospel

Romans 1:16

You could be excused for coming to the conclusion that Jesus is all about church buildings, rules, regulations, traditions, priests, guilt and of course money. Many and various versions of Christianity over the last two thousand years have created systems, traditions and even buildings that become synonymous with following Jesus. Somehow the good news that Jesus brought has become bad news to many. Many people have had bad experiences with the church or it’s representatives. Many people have been abused verbally, physically and spiritually by some in the church. Many are left feeling embarrassed, hurt and not welcome by the church, it’s leadership and church goers. So, while Jesus and his message were originally introduced as good news it is now seen as being something to stay away from. Ironically the good news that Jesus represents was freedom from religion, condemnation of those who misrepresented God and criticism of restrictive and manipulative traditions. So, if your version of Christianity or the version you have rejected is anything but good news then you have been presented the wrong gospel. I would encourage you to seek out the good news of Jesus rather than settle for the bad news you think it is.
