1 Samuel 2:2
A god is something or someone that our life revolves around and demands our attention. For some a god is a divine being, for others it is a sporting team, a music artist, a lover, our children, money or a job. Perhaps the most popular god of all is self. There doesn’t have to be just one, either. After all, worshipping many gods is almost as old as time itself. There is one God that claims he is the one true God. His character and interaction with humanity is summarised and recorded in the Bible. Each of us has to decide whether to believe that he is the only God or whether we continue to guess which other gods are going to get us where and what we want. For me, I can’t see that any other god compares to the God described in the Bible and experienced in my own life and the life of others.
