Constant and consistent

1 Chronicles 16:34

If we look way back in history, we can recognise that religion in some form or another has been an integral part of any age and society. There have been all sorts of gods, traditions and superstitions that have dictated, enslaved and driven cultures to success or ruin. What most people tend to forget is that the major motivator for compliance and adherence is generally fear. Fear of punishment or reprisal because the gods were fickle and hard to please and not all that interested in humanity. In the midst of all these religions Jesus came to reinforce that His Father was different to all the other gods. The main characteristic of the Father is His consistent love, kindness and compassion. He is not swayed by bribes or feelings and is therefore fair and just. Not only that, but He also has such an interest in humanity that He sacrificed His one and only son to ensure we have no barriers to be restored into His family.
