Despite the many ways to connect these days, more than at any other time in history there are still many lonely people. There is such a large perceived pressure to have a large amount of friends or followers on social media. There is also an expectation that life is always exciting, new and fresh. We feel that we are missing out or will be less liked if our life doesn’t look as interesting as others. Despite the glossy pictures and smiling selfies people are more lonely than ever. The good news is that God, who sees both our highlights and lowlights is there beside us always. He is simply waiting for us to turn towards Him to be the encouragement, comfort and friend that we need. While we might forget, ignore or leave Him out of our lives by accident or on purpose He never leaves us.
