Faith is not as easy as it may seem. That is the difficulty in believing without always seeing, hearing experiencing and feeling something tangible. There are always doubts, temptations, excuses, hardship and discouragement that we battle with. The struggle to stay faithful can at times feel like it is not worth the effort. Paul reminds Timothy here that we need to hold on tightly to what we know and remember the experiences that we have had in the past. These will help us persevere until the end where the reality of our faith will be fully realised.
