“It’s not good news it’s the best news ever” This is a line from the song Best News Ever by Mercy Me. The song describes how, unlike any other religion, that even though the gap between us and God is unachievable He took it on Himself to bridge that gap through Jesus. God knew that we could never achieve his standard of perfection. No one can even adhere to three of the Ten Commandments which are a summary of His high expectations. The more we are aware of our shortcomings the more we can appreciate what Jesus did for us and the less we should feel a failure. The more we realise how far we were from His high standard the more we understand how good this news is.
