If we are honest with ourselves we would admit that we really are not perfect. Well I know I am not perfect, in fact far from it. We can fall into the trap of thinking that we are on balance a good person. This presumes that good and evil are evenly balanced either side of a measuring scale. In God’s eyes though it is more like a pure white piece of clothing that has been permanently stained with black blotches. Whether the cloth has one or one hundred blotches it is still ruined and not completely white. Even in the days when Jesus walked the earth people thought that God was only interested in good perfect people. Jesus himself dispelled that myth and stated that His mission was to seek and save the lost, those far from perfect and those far from God. There are those who think they are good enough for God but aren’t and there are those who think they are too bad for God but aren’t. Which one are you? Either way Jesus came to take away all the black blotches and makes us completely white again in the eyes of God.
