More often than not we expect more from God than we think He expects from us. We feel that if God were God He should be doing this or that. He should be getting rid of evil, healing the sick, giving me what I want, answering my prayers and making the world a better place. He shouldn’t be hiding himself, he should be making it rain when it needs to be raining and stopping it when there has been enough. Trouble is that when we think we know better than God we are putting ourselves in His place. Our role is to love and serve him with everything we are and everything we have. Sure we will never do that perfectly or completely and that is why Jesus entered history. Nevertheless, an important part of our journey is to learn to love and trust God with our heart, soul and strength realising that whatever else happens He is God. One day it will all make sense but until that day that is what faith is all about.
