There are many things that we try and build our lives on. For some it is popularity, others it is wealth, for others it might be family or friends. You might pursue education or sport or a better job to give you a sense of stability, purpose and security. None of these things come with a guarantee to last forever. Many of you know that things can change in an instant and our lives can fall apart if that which we have relied on fails, lets us down or disappoints us. A friend could betray us, a family member dies, we are injured or are made redundant and all of a sudden we don’t know what to do. Some turn to something else but are fortunate if that helps or is any more certain. There is only one who is eternally faithful, there is only one who provides the ultimate stability, purpose and security. There is only one whose promise of constant companionship can be trusted. There is only one who provides the ultimate source of strength, comfort and peace. There is only one who will never let us down.
