There are many things that are easier said than done. Some people seem to know a lot about money, for example, but when it comes to being disciplined and putting even the basics into action you can tell they don’t practice what they preach. Some people might know a lot about a particular sport and can tell you how the referee, the coach and even the players should have done things differently, but they don’t even help out with the juniors. As followers of Jesus, we can know and say a lot about love but can quite easily overlook it, forget it or deliberately ignore it for a number of reasons. Perhaps we get too busy, or we get distracted, or we have a disagreement or we feel we just can’t and maybe we just don’t want to. A number of different authors throughout the Bible make it quite clear that the number one key performance indicator for followers of Jesus is how they love God and how they love others. It is easier said than done.
