Keep it to yourself

You might have heard or even said “keep your religion to yourself” or something similar.  The message there is that people don’t want to hear what we believe.  They would be disappointed however if we failed to live out what we believe. People may not necessarily agree with the message we have but are generally drawn to wisdom, good deeds and humility which should be an outworking of what we believe as followers of Jesus.  I don’t think anybody would want us to stop living out our what we believe in that way.  In fact, everyone would agree that the world could do with more wisdom, good deeds and humility.  Perhaps the reason people tell us to keep our beliefs to ourselves is that too often our words don’t translate into or match our actions, which is completely understandable.
