Real life

I find people generally think that to follow Jesus means to give up all the freedom and fullness of life.  It has been a downfall of the church to give the impression that to be a “Christian” is about the ‘thou shall nots’, being somber, serious and even sour.  Many have fallen for this and have promoted and perpetuated the perception that living for God means not living at all. It would seem that from this way of thinking God wants to suck the life out of us and rob us of any joy in this life. This couldn’t be further from the truth and is opposite to what Jesus says.  The good news is wrapped in the promise of a life full of freedom, a bright future, belonging to a loving family, having a good Father, living forever and producing good fruit.
