Busy

We tend to equate busyness with value and purpose.  Unless we are busy it seems we are wasting the time that we have on this earth.  Let’s try and cram as much into life as we can because there is so much to do and so little time.  None of us want to be considered lazy or unproductive either.  If we fill our days with activity and achievement then we can feel content that we have made the most of life.  The problem with this outlook is that we can leave no room for reflection on the why because we are too busy with the what.  Being busy is a good excuse to ignore the deeper questions of life.  Being busy distracts us from discovering our purpose, our origin and our future.  Being busy gets us out of having to think about God, hear God and even respond to Him.  We can live full lives but we need to leave time to reflect.  In fact our lives become more fulfilling when we make time to be still.
