Forgiven

For our holiday we have landed on the island of 1000 mosques where 96% of the 3.4 million people are Muslem.  The remainder are mainly Hindu and they all seem to live together really well.  Five times a day there is a call to prayer which is heard from almost anywhere.  It is difficult to comprehend that despite being faithful to the teaching of Muhammad and being devoted to prayer, reading and reciting the Koran daily and fasting for Ramadan that there still doesn’t seem to be a guaranteed assurance that Allah will be merciful and forgive sins.  Compare that to following the Christ where we are promised that our sins have been and will be forgiven by our God who is abundantly merciful because of the faithfulness of His Son.
