The simple life

I often hear people confidently acknowledge that to enjoy life means to live on the edge, to live free and easy and to do whatever feels good.  Many think that being restricted by morals, ethics and boundaries is not natural or helpful in getting the most out of life.  For a time this can appear to be true but after a while life gets awfully complicated, painful and more often than not full of regret.  Those that deliberately chose to follow the highway to hell wonder why they wake up every morning feeling like they have been hit by a bus coming the other way.  While the ways of God may seem strangely simple and contrary to popular culture I have found that life is less complicated and more fulfilling.  Andy Stanley, a preacher I listen to, says something like ‘life is better and you will be better at life’ if we just try to live the way Jesus wants us to live.
