If it feels good

“I’m here for a good time not a long time” is something I have heard from quite a few people whose aim in life is to do whatever it takes to feel good.  It can seem attractive to live life without concern for our own life or others, to live life full throttle, living on the edge and to the max.  Fast track twenty years though and those same people are suffering physically, emotionally and relationally because of their spur of the moment extreme living choices.  They often leave in their wake quite a few people who end up hurt and angry.  Living this way can stem from a lack of value and purpose.  What a different outlook on life Jesus followers have.  When we give our lives to Jesus we receive value and a purpose.  Then it is like when we purchase a valuable item and we care for it, look after it and ensure it is used only for what it is made for.
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
