If only

If only God could understand. If only He knew what is was like to experience pain, loss, betrayal, saddness and negativity.  If only He knew what is was like to live in a world full of poverty, political unrest and personal hardship.  If only He understood how far away God feels sometimes and what it is like for prayers to seem unanswered in times of distress.There are stories about gods who took on the form of men but none like the story of God who became fully man.  The mysterious and unique story of Jesus being fully God and yet fully human can be difficult to comprehend and even believe.  If it is true though, which I believe it is, we are presented with a God who knows exactly how we feel and has personally experienced every type of situation that we face in this life.  This means that we are not alone and that we are understood.  This means that He knows exactly what we need to get through each and every situation we face in life and that He can and will provide it.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
