Roads were not made just to look at. They are designed for a destination. If you have made a choice to go to a certain place, most of the time you will take the shortest, sturdiest and smoothest route. It is one thing to find the road to your destination it is another to actually get there. The road itself won’t take you to where you are going as it is a passive thing. You will also need a desire, a means of delivery (car) and a determination to get to your destination. You will follow the road and not get distracted by other demands or by doing your own thing. You will not delay by dawdling or deeming there to be different ways of getting there. It is the same when following Jesus. He can show you the road he has made to your destiny but it is up to us to follow it. Our destination is to see him face to face but there is so much more than just getting on the road.

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
Jude 1:20-21 NIV
