Uncertainty

People respond to change and uncertainty in different ways. Very few get excited about the possibilities and opportunities that change could bring about. Most of us feel safer and more confident with life having a certain predictability.  We want to know where our next meal comes from, what we need to do for the day, how people are going to treat us and how to deal with situations and issues as they arise.  In today’s quickly changing technological, political, economical and even social environments it can all seem too much to take in.  We begin to question our capacity to cope, our ability to adapt and our  strength to survive. We cannot ignore or fear change if we are to live our life well and remain sane. The only way to deal and cope effectively with change is to have a firm foundation, a baseline to reference and a secure place. Everything in this world is subject to change except the One who made it.

The LORD is my protector; he is my strong fortress. My God is my protection, and with him I am safe. He protects me like a shield; he defends me and keeps me safe.
