The Story
It’s one thing to believe that Jesus was a real person in real time, there is undeniable evidence that Jesus lived on this earth. It is another thing to believe that He is the Son of God, that he rose from the dead and is coming back to rule and reign over a new heaven and a new earth. James tells us that even the demons believe in God – and tremble (James 2:19). Believing in God is one thing, but putting our faith and our trust in him, is next level. In Mark 9:24 we read of a man that came to Jesus asking for help to heal his son. Jesus replied – “Everything is possible for him who believes.” The man responds “I believe, help me overcome my unbelief.” May we all have the courage to ask Jesus to help us believe in him more, trust in him more and step out in faith and courage to do what he asks us to do. True faith shows itself in doing something – James, Hebrews 11 – and that is not to earn our salvation or impress God, but doing what he asks us to do and say (or not do and say) reveals how much of our lives we trust him with.
